NDIS

NDIS – what does it mean?

NDIS or the National Disability Insurance Scheme is a specialized agency responsible for the well-being of its participants. The NDIS states its main objective as “to provide all Australians who acquire a permanent disability before the age of 65 which substantially impacts how they manage everyday activities with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.” It funds supports and services that are closely aligned with the goals and desires of Australians who have permanent and significant disability. Participants will receive information and connections to access community and mainstream services. Safe Nests sets out with the same objectives to guide NDIS participants around the potential pitfalls of everyday life.

Am I eligible?

The NDIS is eligible for people with a permanent and significant disability between the ages of 7 to 64 years of age. Moreover, only Australian people, Australian citizens, permanent Visa holders, and Protected Special Category Visa holders are eligible to receive NDIS support care and services. To get started with the NDIS, you need to complete the NDIS Access Request Form. Then you are either found eligible or not eligible. If you are then you will be contacted to arrange a meeting to discuss your NDIS plan and more.
